It was a history-making night for BET, as the season finale of the network's critically acclaimed series KEYSHIA COLE: THE WAY IT IS triumphed as the #1 series telecast in BET history. More than 2.9 million viewers and 2.0 million households tuned in on Tuesday, December 11 to watch the special one-hour season finale, scoring a phenomenal 2.3 BET Coverage Rating.

Keyshia Cole now stands as the #1 series in BET history, with an average 1.53 rating, bringing in an average of 1.3 million households and 1.8 million viewers throughout its second season. The finale of KEYSHIA COLE posted gains of +52% versus the show's premiere episode and is BET's #2 telecast of the 2007-08 season behind the BET HIP HOP AWARDS 2007.

In the season finale, Keyshia and her mother Frankie receive the results of a DNA test to reveal whether a man claiming to be Keyshia's long-lost father actually is. Meanwhile, her manager Manny organizes a family reunion to bring together Keyshia's foster family and biological family, including two siblings she has only recently become acquainted with.

International megastar Janet Jackson, who has sold over 100 million albums worldwide and is the newest signing to the Island Def Jam Music Group, has completed her first new single for the label with hitmaking producer Rodney Jerkins. "Feedback" will impact across-the-board at all radio formats on January 7th.

Discipline, Janet Jackson's new album — and the 10th studio album of her career — is scheduled to arrive in stores on February 26th. In addition to Rodney Jerkins, the new album brings together an A-list of guest producers, including Jermaine Dupri, Ne-Yo, Stargate, Tricky Stewart, and The-Dream. DISCIPLINE was executive produced by Antonio "L.A." Reid, Chairman, Island Def Jam Music Group.

Mary J. Blige says she passed on "Umbrella" before the song was shopped to Rihanna. "I'm not going to chase what [mainstream] fans like," she tells Entertainment Weekly. "It might work for a Mariah. It might work for even a Beyoncé. But Mary J. Blige is looked at as some sort of organic thing." She also feels sorry for media-hounded train wreck Amy Winehouse. "It's just sad," she says. "I hate to see any of these females go through it. I was young, and I did dumb stuff — I was doing worse than that."

So why exactly did Bow Wow have to be rushed to the hospital last week after a post-concert collapse? First his reps sent out a press release saying it was most likely due to stress and exhaustion. Earlier this week, a second press release blamed the 20-year-old's fainting on an appendix infection. But on Monday, Bow revealed to MTV News what really plagued him that night: passion. The rapper threw a fit in his dressing room, severely cutting himself in the process.

"Please pardon my left [hand]; my other hand is all stitched up" Bow said Monday evening at Harlem's Wadleigh Secondary School for the Performing & Visual Arts. He and his Face Off partner Omarion were there talking to kids about the importance of staying in school, listening to your parents and shaking off peer pressure. And of course they were promoting their duet album with a performance of the project's first single, "Girlfriend."

Bow hasn't taken the stage since the December 6 concert in his home state of Ohio. He's currently on tour with Chris Brown, but had to miss the last couple of dates due to his hospitalization. 

Teams of federal agents swooped down on up to 10 close associates of the Rev. Al Sharpton Wednesday, demanding the flamboyant clergyman's financial records since 2001.

Sharpton's former chief of staff said he was roused at his Harlem home about 6:30 a.m. by two FBI agents who handed him a subpoena to bring the records to a federal grand jury the day after Christmas.

Several employees of Sharpton's National Action Network also got wakeup subpoenas to testify before the Brooklyn panel, the rabble-rousing reverend's lawyer said.

The FBI and IRS are investigating whether Sharpton improperly misstated the amount of money he raised during his 2004 White House run to illegally obtain federal matching funds, a source familiar with the probe said.

The Broadway attendance police are on patrol, and this time we're giving out detention to - Fanta sia. Since summer, the occasional star of "The Color Purple" has missed nearly 50 performances, production sources say. Following a three-week vacation caused by the strike, she dropped last Friday's performance, causing pandemonium in the lobby of the Broadway Theatre.

An 8-year-old girl sobbed uncontrollably when she heard Fantasia was not going to be in the show.

"It was very sad," my lobby spy reports. "Her mother was trying to explain to her that Fantasia was sick, but the girl didn't understand and just kept crying."

After crafting Rihanna’s “Umbrella,” one of the biggest hits of her career, and implanting the “ella, ella” earworm in the world’s auditory memory, The-Dream set out to become yet another big songwriter-turned-big singer. The Georgia native, who also wrote J. Holiday’s “Bed” and Mary J. Blige’s “Just Fine,” is off to a good start, generating ample buzz for his debut Love Hate with “Shawty Is Da Sh*t! (10)” and “Falsetto.” The album, produced almost exclusively by Tricky Stewart (Rihanna, Mya, Britney Spears), shows off The-Dream’s quirky lyrical style and a sound influenced by everything from chopped & screwed music to Prince. Rhapsody recently got him on the phone to discuss the making of the Love Hate, which was recorded in only nine days, and getting booed at the Vibe Yardfest. 

Cherish is back! Check out the new video for the first single off of their upcoming album. The new album is due out February 5, 2007, and the girls have decided to call it "The Truth". The new video also features Yung Joc, and the name of the track is called "Killa".

R&B singer and Ray J has signed a new deal with Koch Records for his next album which is tentatively titled, Rated R. The singer's last album, Raydiation, was released independently through his own Knockout Entertainment label and Sanctuary Records. The set sold over 300,000 copies and it featured the song, "One Wish."

The multi-talented artist signed a multi-album venture that will see his Knockout Entertainment partnering with Shaquille O'Neal's Deja 34 Entertainment company. Koch signed on to market and distribute the new discs, with A&R duties handled by the "Drama King," DJ Kay Slay.

"I feel great about bringing Knockout Entertainment to Koch," Ray J said about the new venture, via press release. "I enjoy making great music and I believe in working very hard. I'm excited to be with a team who believes in me and my ideas,"

Now Janet Jackson's new single was suppose to leak this weekend, but it has surfaced days in advance. The new single is called Feedback, and it's rumored to be produced by either Rodney Jerkins, or Danjahandz. It's definitely a club record, and I kinda like it. It's nothing I'd call home to momma about, but it'll do. What do you bitches think? Is it HOT, or is it a CHOP?

Mary J. Blige's new album has been leaked weeks before it was scheduled to be released, and it is SICK-O-NING!!! Now I will admit, the first single "Fine" had me not interested in this project at OILS! But after downloading the album, I am LIVING! I think she really choose an awful first single, but the rest of the album makes up for it. One of my favorite tracks is "Stay Down" which could have been a sickning first single.
